A Poem by Ekin Tümer
Ekin Tümer is a writer and translator who was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1993. After studying Social Sciences at Queen Mary University of London for a year, she went back to Turkey to graduate from Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Cinema and Television. She worked in varied fields such as social media management, photography, video editing, and copywriting, where she felt kind of lost and mostly unsatisfied. Then, in 2020, she has switched to literature and practiced writing fiction. Her first novel titled Dört Ayak Üstünde (On All Fours), which focuses on the journey of a dysfunctional main character who is torn between taking roots and being on a permanent vacation, was published in May 2022. Ekin continues writing both short and long stories while also working as a freelance translator for galleries and art institutions like İMÇ 5533, Galeri Nev, and Arter.
